ASE Master Technician Sold on
AMSOIL
Mark Deschner, Friendswood, Texas,
is an ASE master technician and manager of the West
Pear land Tire & Auto Store.
He recently was able to demonstrate the superior
quality of AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants when he had
to change out a leaking intake manifold on his 1991
Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup truck, with more than
183,000 miles on the original engine.
"When my lead technician took the intake manifold
off, for the first time ever, he couldn't believe
how clean the lifter valley and the top of the
cylinder heads were on my truck," Deschner said.
The technician thought Deschner may have changed it
before. But Deschner assured him he had never had
the intake off before.
"He always made fun of me for only changing the oil
once a year and the filter twice a year," Deschner
said. "I think that seeing how clean the intake and
cylinder heads are in my truck has changed his mind
about AMSOIL products. I've always believed in them
and my truck runs AMSOIL for all lubricant needs."
He uses AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil, SDF24
Super Duty Oil Filter, TS31 2-Stage Air Filter,
GF111 Fuel Filter, 80W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube,
Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid, Synthetic
Multi-purpose Grease, P.I. Performance Gas Additive,
Rain Clear Windshield Protectant and Bosch
windshield wiper blades.
"As you can see, I have pretty much converted the
entire truck over to AMSOIL products," Deschner
said.
AMSOIL Boosts Bottom Line for
Grain Hauler
Burnell Keller of Castroville, Texas hauls a lot of
corn. Saving downtime and maintenance costs boost
his bottom line.
Since the 1960s, Keller Grain, Inc., at Castroville
has bought high quality white and yellow corn from
local farmers and trucked it to processing plants
across the state of Texas. "These trucks put on
about 12,000 miles a month," said Keller, the
company's owner.
He was running Exxon XD3-30 motor oil in his
Freightliner and changing it every 10,000 miles. He
heard AMSOIL products could cut his operating and
maintenance costs in half, provide better fuel
economy, easier starts and extended oil drains at
least three times longer than he was getting.
"We were fixing to extend the drain to 15,000
miles," Keller said. "But a sample of the Exxon
motor oil analyzed at 10,000 miles came back saying
the oil needed to be changed. I said, let's give
AMSOIL a whirl."
After an engine flush, Keller installed AMSOIL
15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil in his
Freightliner, with more than 400,000 miles on the
engine.
"We did this procedure three times at a 15,000-mile
analysis and filter change only," Keller said. "Each
time the oil sample report came back saying the oil
was good for continued use."
After the third round of analysis, the oil was
changed. Keller plans to continue with 15,000-mile
analysis and filter changes and to continue to use
the same oil for an interval of 50,000 miles.
"That's about five times longer than before," Keller
said. "It's very good. Keller Grain is now convinced
that AMSOIL is a superior product and that anybody
can save money using AMSOIL products."
Customer Sold on AMSOIL Quality
and Value.
That's what today's savvy consumers want.
According to marketing analysts, the average
consumer no longer accepts general sales pitches
full of empty promises. The Internet gives consumers
instant access to nearly every possible product or
service. They look for quality information, conduct
price comparisons and then make buying decisions.
The bottom line: more bang for their buck. And when
that consumer is raising seven children, top quality
products and savings are an even greater priority.
Scott Boring, Oakfield, N.Y., has seven children
with his wife Teri. He's looking for quality and
savings to keep his 1997 GMC Yukon, with a 5.7 litre
V-8 engine that "isn't noted for gas mileage,"
running down the road carrying his large family as
efficiently as possible.
A friend told Boring about AMSOIL products. He
promised better gas mileage - an important selling
point with today's high gasoline prices - more
efficient performance and longer life.
The vehicle had 40,000 miles on it when Boring
installed AMSOIL products bumper to bumper.
"I did it all at one time, just to see the
difference," Boring said. He installed AMSOIL Series
2000 75W-140 Synthetic Gear Oil, used AMSOIL Engine
Flush and then installed AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic
High Performance Motor Oil and AMSOIL Universal
Automatic Transmission Fluid.
"I especially like the ATF," Boring said. "The truck
shifts smoother and the transmission is quiet. All
you hear is the tires on the ground. I've tried
other synthetics, lots of them. I just never saw any
difference. But, with AMSOIL, I saw a difference
right away."
The first tankful of gasoline increased his mileage
from 15 mpg to 20.5 mpg. "I swear I didn't believe
it," he said. "I'm averaging between 19 and 21 mpg
all the time.
"This stuff is awesome and I'm letting all my
friends know about it."
Troy Michigan Police and City Hall
Fleet: This letter is a summary of a letter
written by the Superintendent of Motor Pool. Please
contact us if you would like the full letter mailed or
faxed to you.
The City of Troy, Michigan has
switched its entire Police and City Hall Fleet
(approximately 350 vehicles) to AMSOIL Synthetic
Lubricants.
History: In the past, all marked
and unmarked police vehicles would come in monthly for
an oil change, lube and safety check. As a test,
we switched two marked Chevrolet Caprice vehicles over
to 100% synthetic AMSOIL engine oil and extended the
drain intervals to 20,000 miles, with a new oil filter
installed at 10,000 miles. The vehicles were
still scheduled to come in monthly for a safety
inspection (tires, brakes, suspension, lights,
etc...), but the oil is not drained, only a sample is
taken. When the two test vehicles reached 70,000
miles, the City of Troy technicians removed the oil
pans and also removed the main and rod bearings to
check for wear using the plastic gauge test. The
bearings showed very little wear. the same
procedure was performed on two marked cars, same year,
make and model, using petroleum oil. The wear on
the two vehicles with petroleum oil, changed monthly
at about 2,500-3,000 miles, showed slightly more wear
in the plastic guage test. The results were well
within specifications in both cases.
Currently the city is using all Ford
Crown Victorias in its police fleet. With the
help of oil analysis, we were able to extend our oil
changes to 18,000-20,000 miles with a new filter
installed at 9,000-10,000 miles. We are
currently using AMSOIL synthetic engine, transmission,
and rear differential oil in all vehicles serviced out
of the city hall facility.
SAVINGS: Savings have been
noticed due to the decrease in number of oil filters
and quarts of oil purchased and disposed of .
Labor time to complete a preventative maintenance (A
or B) on a vehicle has been reduced, allowing up to
50% more vehicles to be serviced each day. To
date, we have not had to re-build an engine or
transmission with the new extended oil change
intervals.
Texas Department of Public Safety
Cuts Costs With AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil
AMSOIL INC. and the Texas Department of Public
Safety conducted a field test to determine the cost
effectiveness and engine wear protection provided by
AMSOIL products in severe service applications.
AMSOIL 5W-30 Motor Oil and Super Duty Oil Filters
were installed in five police vehicles. No oil
changes were performed during the 24,000-mile
testing period. At the 12,000 mark, the oil filters
were changed and one quart of oil was added to each
vehicle to replace the oil lost with the filter
change-out.
The Texas Department of Public Safety police fleet
vehicles were 1999 Ford Crown Victoria patrol cars.
The Texas Department of Public Safety invested $58
per vehicle to install the AMSOIL products. Using
conventional petroleum oil for the standard
3,000-mile drain intervals, the Department invests
$176 per vehicle over the 24,000-mile testing
period.
Without even taking into consideration the superior
protection and performance AMSOIL motor oil offers
over a conventional lubricant, the Texas Department
of Public Safety saves $118 per vehicle in lubricant
expenses alone. When extending these savings to all
nine vehicles in the Canyon office, AMSOIL motor oil
saves the department $1,062. Taken even further, if
all 100 vehicles switched to AMSOIL motor oil and
SDF oil filters for drain intervals of 24,000 miles,
they would save $11,800. If all 3,000 vehicles
statewide made the switch, the state would save a
staggering $354,000 in lubricant expenses alone.
Oil analysis results of one of the test vehicles
showed that the superior lubricating properties of
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil provided
outstanding protection and performance throughout an
extended drain service life. AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30
retained its stable operating viscosity throughout
the trial, and contaminants such as iron and lead
were virtually nonexistent. Based on the results of
this test, the Texas DPS has since converted all
their vehicles to AMSOIL bumper to bumper.
AMSOIL Performance Catches Pro
Angler
Shawn Towner, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, may practice
catch-and-release as an angler, but Towner says
AMSOIL products are keepers - all of them.
"Being a professional angler for the past six years,
I rely on the performance of my equipment," Towner
said. "Most important area my tow vehicle and boat
motor."
Towner first tried AMSOIL products three years ago
and he's been sold ever since. "I have switched to
AMSOIL lubricants in all applications," he said.
AMSOIL 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil and AMSOIL ATF are
in his 1994 Chevy Astro Van towing vehicle - which
has more than 119,000 miles on the engine - and he
installed AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil in his 2002 Mercury XR6
150 horsepower outboard motor on his 2002 Triton
TR-185 bass boat.
"The AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oil has really peaked the
performance of my engine," Towner said. "There's
less smoke at start up, no plug fouling, no buildup
on the carburetors. Everything is nice and clean in
the engine, and I get great performance. The engine
never falters once."
He uses AMSOIL Series 200 Synthetic Racing Grease
and AMSOIL oil filters.
"The oil filters are superior to anything else
that's made," he said.
Before he switched to AMSOIL, Towner used another
synthetic and got about 340 miles to a tank of
gasoline in the van, he said. With AMSOIL 5W-30,
he's getting about 400 miles per tank of gasoline.
Interstate Battery System of
Detroit, Inc.
This letter is a summary of a letter
received from the President of Interstate Battery of
Detroit.
I am writing to let you know how
pleased I am with the AMSOIL program that you helped
set us up with. For the past 25 years our fleet
of trucks, mostly Navistar/International 4600 Series
trucks, have been using regular petroleum-base
lubrication products. We thought that we were happy
with our lubrication program until we were introduced
to AMSOIL.
I was very reluctant to switch from
regular lubricants to fully synthetic lubricants
because the benefits of AMSOIL seemed too good to be
true. To be honest, when I was told that the
motor oil could go as long as 100,000+ miles without
changing, I didn't believe it. I can tell you
now I
am a true believer.
We have been using AMSOIL now for
about 4 years and have changed the entire fleet to AMSOIL synthetic lubricants. We use the By-Pass
oil filtration system on all of our trucks with the
Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine 15W-40
oil. We use AMSOIL grease and use the 75W-90
gear lube for the manual transmissions and
differentials and the synthetic ATF transmission fluid
for the automatics.
What do I get out of using AMSOIL?
A lot! After becoming fully synthetic on all of my
trucks, I picked up an average of 5% in fuel
savings. I haven't had to change my oil since I
switched...4 years ago! I can't tell you how
much money that has saved me in time alone. I
have several trucks with over 100,000 miles on the oil
and I am still getting high marks when I send the oil
in for analysis But the best benefit is the
decreased wear and tear on my equipment such as the
pistons, cylinder heads and walls, transmission gears
and differential gears. That is the most important to
me because it means I can leverage my fleet longer,
which translates into saved dollars. It means I can
put those extra dollars to work in another area of my
business. My average truck life has gone from 7 years
to more than 15 years! UNBELIEVABLE! I have
estimated the savings from better leverage alone will
save me over $20,000 per year.
Thanks for all the help as I've
implemented this new program. I am absolutely ecstatic
about the results so far and I look forward to a long
and fruitful partnership with you and AMSOIL.

Discovers a Burning Desire For AMSOIL
Dealer Mark Licht of Andover, N.J., was on a follow-up visit at Jimmy's
Service, Inc., of Hackettstown, N.J., when the integrity of AMSOIL ATF
was put to a new, on-the-spot test.
Licht showed shop owner Jimmy Naranjo several pieces of literature on
oil and ATF testing results. After listening to Licht talk about the
benefits of AMSOIL ATF, Naranjo turned to him and said, "You're full of
it."
Licht continued to explain all the features and benefits that AMSOIL ATF
has to offer, but Naranjo interrupted and told him, "There is only one
way to prove this ATF is any good."
Naranjo went to his shelf and opened two brands of transmission fluid he
uses and poured some of each onto his metal workbench. The shop owner
than poured some AMSOIL ATF next to the other two brands. "I had no idea
what this guy was about to do," said Licht.
Naranjo then took out his torch and put the flame directly on the first
brand of transmission fluid he commonly used. After about 30 seconds the
little puddle of transmission fluid started smoking. Naranjo proceeded
to the second brand he stocked in his service shop and repeated the
process. After another 30 seconds, that brand of transmission fluid
began smoking badly.
"Now it's AMSOIL's turn and I must admit I thought my fluid was going to
smoke out just like the others with that direct flame," said Licht.
Naranjo held the flame on the AMSOIL ATF for over two and a half minutes
and there was absolutely no smoke.
"He quickly turned to me and said he'd take a 30-gallon and a 55-gallon
drum of the ATF," said Licht. "We couldn't believe our eyes!"
Now Jimmy's Service stocks the entire XL line of oils, all of the AMSOIL
25,000-mile oils, AMSOIL diesel oils and all of the AMSOIL diesel
additives. The shop also carries AMSOIL filters, 2-cycle oils, Power
Foam Engine Cleaner and Home Heating Fuel Extender.
AMSOIL Quality
Earns Loyalty
AMSOIL Performs in Georgia Heat
Jack Sandow, from the Okefenokee Swamp region of
southeastern Georgia, has been a user and believer
in AMSOIL synthetic motor oils and lubricants for
decades.
“The heat in this part of the country often
approaches 100 degrees for
weeks at a time in our very long, humid summers,”
Sandow said. “Only the
toughest lubrication will hold up under these
punishing conditions, and
AMSOIL answers the need for durability.”
Sandow said he uses AMSOIL lubricants in his
PowerStroke diesel, three
“gasoline burners, plus all my farm and lawn-care
equipment. It does
wonders for my ATV, generators and even my air
compressor and boat motors. I installed the AMSOIL
Remote Filtration Kit on the F-350 and the soot
removal is amazing.”
Sandow reports he has received long service from
every motor he owns. “I
wouldn’t ride my two Harley-Davidson bikes around
the block without AMSOIL in all three lubrication
points, plus I use AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease
on everything,” he said.
Sandow has used AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic
Transmission Fluid (ATF) several times to solve
problems and increase the life of different
vehicles. He had a Honda Accord in which the
transmission’s overdrive system failed. “I was at my
wit’s end after replacing the transmission fluid
with conventional
petroleum-based fluids multiple times,” Sandow said.
“Finally, I installed
AMSOIL ATF and within a couple of hundred miles the
overdrive locking
mechanism freed up, and the transmission began to
shift like it was new.”
When Sandow traded in the Accord for an Odyssey, it
had 335,000 miles on the transmission, still shifted
like new and had never required repairs.
His 1963 Ford 2000 farm tractor used to require
yearly hydraulic system
service.
“I had it in the shop on an annual basis because of
the failure of the
three-point hitch system to lift properly,” Sandow
said. “I got an idea two
years ago to replace the petroleum-based hydraulic
fluid with AMSOIL ATF. It immediately responded like
it was brand new, and has operated perfectly ever
since. I have told that story to hundreds of people.
It was downright miraculous, and saves me a chunk of
money now.”
Another story of AMSOIL quality involves Sandow’s
brother-in-law, who
bought a used Ford F-250 diesel fleet pickup truck.
“Upon driving the truck for several hundred miles,
he complained that the transmission shifted and
sounded like it was ‘on its last legs
With 70,000 miles on it, Sandow encouraged him to
replace the transmission fluid with AMSOIL ATF, and
the results were impressive.
“The unit immediately ran much quieter and shifted
like a new one,” Sandow said. “My brother-in-law now
has more than 300,000 miles on the
transmission without ever having to turn a wrench on
it.”
Every mechanical device Sandow owns is lubed with
AMSOIL products. “All the friends and relatives that
I’ve encouraged to use AMSOIL are equally amazed at
the results,” he said.
AMSOIL MPHD For Knives
Dealer Jamey McKinley recently discovered a new use
for AMSOIL Heavy Duty Metal Protector (MPHD). He
uses his Buck pocket knife daily to cut open boxes
and “all kinds of things,” McKinley said. “The knife
is spring assisted and I have had it for more than
two years.”
He has sharpened it many times. “Over time the hinge
has gotten gummed up so the spring would only open
the knife part way, and then I had to
manually open it the rest of the way,” McKinley
said.
He decided to try AMSOIL MPHD by shooting some into
the hinge. “I opened the knife, shot one squirt into
the hinge, wiped the blade down with it, closed the
knife and wiped off the excess,” he said. “The knife
opens like
new. Not only that, but now the tape from the boxes
doesn’t stick to it as
much. I was amazed.
Eastwood Excavating of Traverse
City, MI
Thank you for introducing us to the
AMSOIL product line. Although this is our first
construction season using AMSOIL products, we are
experiencing a lot of good things. I will try to
highlight some of the things that we've experienced to
date. First of all, we had changed all of our
fluids to AMSOIL in February 2000. We have yet
to experience an oil change. To date all we've had to
do is change the filters and draw a sample, send it
in, get the results and experience more extended oil
service life. Consequently, we've not had to
dispose of any oil. Our services are so
simple. We now perform them in the field instead
of in the shop as we used to because all we need to do
again is draw a sample, change the filter and top the
fluid off. While the initial cost of the change
over from our past oils to the AMSOIL system was
expensive, it was certainly worth it because of the
change over, we have a much better filter system
providing us with much less equipment wear which
provides longer equipment life with less overhauls and
rebuilds.
Dave, you really made it easy for us
starting with the first introduction to the AMSOIL
product working with us, guiding us and actually
working hands on with our mechanic to help us through
some of the change overs was a fabulous experience.
The technical support that you provide us with helps
us a lot and we really appreciate it when you just
stop in to see how things are going making sure
everything's okay and it's nice to know that your
support is just a phone call away. This has been a
very good experience. Thank you for your help.
(please note
that since this letter was written in August 2001,
that Eastwood has not done an oil change yet as of
2003 and is still going strong on AMSOIL. Many pieces
of their heavy equipment has close to 7000 hours
without an oil change. Previous oil changes with
petroleum oil were performed at 150-200 hours). In
2004 they performed the first oil change on all
heavy equipment. This was primarily due to
recordkeeping and employee/mechanic turnover
affecting maintenance on the equipment. Now, in
order to make recordkeeping and maintenance easier
Eastwood plans to begin changing oil once per year
in December when the construction and excavating
business slows down until the spring. This is a
massive improvement vs. changing oil every 200-250
hours as was done previously.
AMSOIL POWERS HARD-DRIVEN JETTA TDI
AMSOIL customer Scott Farrell, Newport News, Va.,
saves money and gains mileage in his 1998 Volkswagen
Jetta TDI using AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil and
biodiesel made from soybeans.
Farrell, Chief Electronics Technician (ETC) in the
U.S. Coast Guard, bought the car new in February
1998. "I ran a conventional diesel oil for the first
24,000 miles," he said. "Then I switched to AMSOIL
Synthetic 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil. My car now
has more than 195,000 miles."
The car is hard-driven, exposed to everything from
commuting and towing to racing and excessive idling.
"I change my oil every 10,000 miles," Farrell said.
"However, oil analysis always indicates the oil is
suitable for continued use."
Farrell races Autocross, a timed handling
competition similar to Rally Racing.
He said AMSOIL synthetic motor oils have never let
him down. He now uses AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40
European Formula Motor Oil.
"My oil consumption is less than a quart every
10,000 miles and the car is still capable of
achieving more than 50 miles per gallon, even with
significant performance modifications," Farrell
said.
He started racing the car in 2004. "I display the
AMSOIL banner with pride and enjoy turning heads in
my diesel-powered underdog of a race car/commuter,"
Farrell said.
"I also fuel my car with biodiesel made from
US-grown soybeans. With rising fuel prices, it's
safe to say I will maintain my relationship with
diesels and AMSOIL for years to come."
Cinjo Racing
The Performance
Oil Technology AMSOIL sponsored
Michigan-based Cinjo Racing Team competes in the
American Race Truck Series (ARTS). ARTS is based
out of Phoenix, AZ but sanctions racing across the
country. The trucks are very similar to those in
the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Cinjo is also
connected to the prestigious Roush Industries of
NASCAR fame. John Neece from Cinjo calls AMSOIL,
"The recognized leader in synthetic engine oils,
automatic transmission fluids, and rear axle
lubricants for high performance applications"
"Spoiled Brat" Racing Counts on
AMSOIL Performance
Junior dragster racing involves the whole family as
it puts kids 8 to 17 years old in the driver's seat
in a half-scale dragster. The cars run on
five-horsepower, four-stroke engines at speeds up to
85 mph. The modified engines run on methanol or
alcohol on a 1/8-mile track.
"Methanol does increase speed because it is a much
more volatile fuel than gas," said Mark Benner, crew
chief for Spoiled Brat Racing Team in Fisherville,
Ontario, Canada. "The engine will run cooler as long
as lots of methanol is being pumped into the motor.
This means if you give the motor less fuel (rejetting)
it will run hot. Methanol has no lubricating
qualities. Therefore, it can be corrosive to engine
parts. So a good oil is needed to maintain engine
integrity." Benner insists on AMSOIL Series 2000
Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil.
Benner teaches his daughter, nine-year-old Keely,
the ins and outs of drag racing and, as crew chief,
keeps her engine running at peak performance.
Spoiled Brat Racing is one example of the family
involvement in junior dragster racing. Keely is the
team's driver in the International Hot Rod
Association's circuit in Ontario. This is her second
year driving the black dragster with the gold
flames, powered by a Briggs and Stratton four-stroke
motor. In her first year, she came in third in
points. Marne Benner, Keely's mom, is crew and
financial backer, and little brother David, 6, is
junior crew and future driver. David may be young,
but he's active as junior crew member helping to
refuel the car after a run, load the trailer, change
the oil and anything else he's asked to do. "He is
waiting very patiently for his eighth birthday,"
said Benner.
Keely's grandparents are a constant support in the
stands.
"My parents never miss a race," Mark Benner said.
Benner and his wife raced full-size dragsters for
many years, but chose to go to the junior dragsters
so the whole family could participate in a sport
they love. While he sometimes misses driving, he
gets more satisfaction watching his daughter.
The dragster has run on AMSOIL since it was new,
Benner said.
And he kept AMSOIL in the engine for all of the
first season he owned it. "This motor had two and a
half years of racing on it," he said.
He dismantled the engine for maintenance between
racing seasons.
"When the engine came apart this past winter, the
inside was just spotless with no sign of excessive
wear," Benner said. "Needless to say, there was no
way I was going to change to a different brand of
oil after seeing the inside of the motor. AMSOIL is
the only oil for us."
He puts 12 ounces in the motor and changes it after
about nine runs. "This used oil doesn't get recycled
yet," Benner said. "I put this used oil in my lawn
mowers. The lawn mowers are running great on this
used AMSOIL. When I change the oil in the lawn
mowers, then the oil gets disposed of properly."
The dragsters get a lot of attention on the tracks.
"A lot of people talk to me when they are looking at
the car and the oil always comes up in the
conversation because of how high we rev these little
motors, AMSOIL gets a plug every time I talk about
the car."
AMSOIL Customers Appreciate Greater MPG
Although results vary because of a variety of
factors, a common denominator among AMSOIL motor oil
users is an improvement in fuel economy.
Independent testing reveals that AMSOIL Series 2000
0W-30 motor oil passes the API Energy Conservation
Sequence VI test with a rating 38 percent higher
than the API minimum specifications.
"The test results show that AMSOIL has the potential
to save energy by conserving fuel," said Technical
Services Manager Ed Kellerman. "In most cases it can
increase mileage, but at the very least you're
getting superior engine protection."
Ralph Sites, a police officer in Rustburg, VA, said
he put AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil in his
2002 GL 1800 Honda Gold Wing when it had 4,550 miles
on the engine.
"I had been getting 30 miles per gallon," Sites
said. "I was supposed to be getting 40 to 45 miles
per gallon."
His first oil change to AMSOIL improved his mileage
to 38 miles per gallon. At 6,500 miles on the
engine, after replacing the final drive oil with
AMSOIL Series 2000 75W-90 Gear Lube, he improved to
40 miles per gallon.
"I switched to AMSOIL for the long-term gain. The
improved gas mileage was just a bonus. AMSOIL is
less expensive than Honda's synthetic and I don't
have to change it as often. It's a win-win
situation."
He bought the bike new in January 2002 and had put
12,000 miles on it in August. He said the improved
mileage he's gotten since switching to AMSOIL has
saved him $102 just in gasoline.
Jeff Bailey in Fulton, Mo., said his 1996 Lexus
GS300 with 81,000 miles on it also gained fuel
efficiency when he switched to AMSOIL motor oil.
"The car wants premium gasoline," he said. "I drive
about 18,000 miles a year. I ordered your synthetic
product and absolutely astounded.
"I was used to getting about 20 mpg overall and
having a little low-rev torque."
Since switching to AMSOIL motor oil, Bailey gets 24
mpg and uses regular gasoline.
"The engine feels even more flexible," he said.
"I've used AMSOIL now for my wife's anemic Camry 2.2
litre and have calculated that I have saved about
$120," he said. "Thanks AMSOIL for an awesome
product. You have a customer for life."
Likewise, Lance Okeson of St. Paul, Minn., gained
miles per gallon after switching to AMSOIL motor oil
in his 1995 Cutlass Supreme.
Okeson made the switch after learning about AMSOIL
from a customer of his at a quick lube where he
works. His customer was so enthusiastic about AMSOIL,
Okeson did some research on the AMSOIL Website and
decided to try the products. A trip from the Twin
Cities to Fargo, N.D., in a steady 17 mile-per-hour
wind, and back showed him an increase from 24 mpg to
30.5 mpg.
"I have never gotten 30 plus mpg with that car,"
Okeson said. "I have two other vehicles that I
switched over to AMSOIL motor oil. One is a 4x4 and
the other is an old muscle car. I switched the
transmissions and the differentials in those
vehicles as well."
AMSOIL Motorcycle Oil Makes
Gold Wing ‘Purr’
After nearly 15 years of using AMSOIL synthetic motor oils
and lubricants,
Ken Burkhalter, Chelsea, Mich., still finds himself
pleasantly surprised by
the quality of the products.
Burkhalter said he loves AMSOIL products and uses them in
“anything and
everything that comes under my control.”
And that’s a lot. Burkhalter and his wife, Nancy, ran a
200-acre farm,
where they have raised and bred sheep until this year when
they retired so
they can travel.
The three farm tractors, ranging from a small 26 HP to a
large 110 HP
Massey, are equipped with AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil,
AMSOIL oil and air filters and AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor
Hydraulic/Transmission Oil. Burkhalter also uses AMSOIL gear
lubes in his vehicles.
The 2000 Honda ATV, appropriately the “Rancher” model with a
350cc engine, runs with AMSOIL 10W-40 High Performance
Motorcycle Engine Oil. He bought the ATV for Nancy to run
around the farm and check on the sheep. She says the fire
engine red ATV with its racks makes it a perfect “lambulance”
should any of the babies need rescuing, an event that hasn’t
happened.
His zero-turn lawn mower, log-splitter and small engine
water (pond) pump
also are equipped with AMSOIL lubes and greases.
He runs AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil in his 2004
Chrysler Pacifica and 2002 Buick Rendezvous, along with the
farm truck, a 1991 Dodge Dakota. The vehicles also have
AMSOIL air and oil filters installed.
Although he registered as a Dealer years ago, he has used
the products for
himself rather than selling them to others.
“While I proselytize AMSOIL products to all who will listen,
I just send
them to the AMSOIL website to learn more,” Burkhalter said.
“I’m a great
promoter, I just didn’t have the time to handle sales
efforts. Now that I
am retired I might rethink that.”
Although Burkhalter trusts the quality and performance of
AMSOIL motor
oils, lubes and filters, he has been newly impressed with
AMSOIL products
in his 1999 Honda Gold Wing GL1500SE. He purchased it with
15,000 miles on the engine. He put 5,000 miles on the oil
and .uids installed by the dealer he bought the bike from
and then installed AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 High Performance
Motorcycle Engine Oil. “Upon riding the bike after the
change I was blown away,” Burkhalter said. “Words alone
cannot describe the remarkable performance change.”
He reports the engine starts easier and quieter and idles
significantly
faster.
“I’ll have to adjust the idle speed back down,” he said. “It
runs like
everything is made from silk. The engine is so quiet you can
barely hear it
at 70 mph, and the smooth sound it makes is so stunning, I
have been
driving with my radio off just to enjoy the engine purr.”
Besides the purring of the engine, Burkhalter experienced an
immediate
improvement in shifting ease on the Gold Wing. “I thought it
might be my
over-fertile imagination, but looking at the shop manual
closer I find that
the transmission runs in the engine oil (not separate) so
the extreme
smoothness, ease of shifting and lack of gear gnashing can
only be
attributable to the use of the AMSOIL motorcycle oil.
“I’m not sure why I’m surprised, having been a satisfied
user for more than
a decade, but the difference in the bike was dramatic.”

AMSOIL

Synthetics have proven to be the BEST.
AMSOIL also engineers and manufactures Super Duty
Oil filters which have a 12,500 mile service life as well as
specialized filtration systems for commercial and fleet
applications in cars and light, medium and heavy trucks which
can filter particles down to less than one micron ( a standard
full flow oil filter can only filter to 20-25 microns, and at
a reduced efficiency) making oil changes virtually
unnecessary and virtually eliminating engine wear.
These filters have been proven by millions of miles of
over-the road trucks, construction equipment and fleet
service.
