Preferred Customer Trial Membership 25% Off Retail
From the President's Desk...
A friend of mine who is also an AMSOIL commercial
account told me about a conversation he had with
four of his hunting buddies over breakfast recently.
My friend, who is a great advocate of AMSOIL
lubricants and has been using them for as long as I
have been making oil, was telling these fellows
about the benefits of using our synthetic oil. One
of the hunters said he also used AMSOIL. He said he
puts over 40,000 miles a year on his SUV and used to
change oil every three to four weeks before
switching to AMSOIL. Now he enjoys the convenience
of changing only twice a year, spring and fall, and
appreciates the improved fuel economy and cold
weather performance AMSOIL provides.
About the time the third guy was convinced, the
fourth person at the table said he changed his oil
every 3,000 miles just like the oil companies
recommended and planned to continue doing so. That
really got my friend going. He told this skeptic
about how the normal drain intervals in Europe were
often over 10,000 miles. He told how GM was no
longer making oil change recommendations based on
mileage but by monitoring operating conditions,
often resulting in drain intervals of over 7,000
miles. He asked why it was necessary for every major
oil company to make a synthetic or partial synthetic
oil to meet the current ILSAC GF-4 specs required
for many of today's automotive applications.
Then, after all that, he asked how it felt to be
guilty of wasting our precious energy resources at a
time when prices were going through the roof and
supply was becoming a concern. He said that if
everyone used synthetic oil and actually followed
whatever drain recommendations their vehicle
manufacturer recommended, we could dramatically
reduce our dependence on foreign oil. And if they
all used AMSOIL, they would conserve a whole lot
more. By the time breakfast was over, everyone at
the table including the skeptic agreed that AMSOIL
was the way to go.
The point of this story is this: Selling AMSOIL
Synthetic Lubricants has never been easier than it
is today. Many Dealers can remember when we didn't
have all the convincing ammunition we now have to
make a sale. When synthetic oil was new, it took a
real leap of faith to use it.
Today, it's a no-brainer. If you want the best

Preferred Customers Cash In On Business
Opportunity
AMSOIL Preferred Customers buy the best synthetic motor oils and
lubricants on the market for wholesale prices.
The use the products and then, over time, discover how well they
perform.
Before long, Preferred Customers spread the good news about AMSOIL
synthetics to friends and acquaintances. Those people ask questions.
Eventually, many Preferred Customers recognize an opportunity to
earn money selling the products.
"The intended purpose of the Preferred Customer program is personal
use," said Dan Gorski, international sales representative. "Almost
all of our Dealers who are successful started out buying for their
own personal use."
Truth is, Preferred Customers are sitting on a golden opportunity.
Upgrading to Dealer status gives Preferred Customers a business of
their own. It's an opportunity to earn extra money. First, income
increases through sales of AMSOIL products. Unlike Preferred
Customers, Dealers also sponsor other Preferred Customers and
Dealers, and pursue retail and commercial accounts - all of which
earns them commission credits that increase profits.
"Commissions are a big part of increasing income," Gorski said.
Today's economy leaves many people little job security, and growing
angst for retirement income. An AMSOIL Dealership is the perfect
answer. Dealers can spend as much time and energy on their
businesses as they want. The more time and effort they put into
their Dealerships, the more profits they generate and the more
security they have in a world that is changing quickly. As a Dealer,
even illness or inability to work for a period of time does not
interrupt the flow of income generated from a well-established
business.
Don Smith, Fredricksburg, Iowa, became a Preferred Customer about
two years ago.
"I was leery of using AMSOIL motor oil," Smith said. "I never knew
anyone who used it."
Smith is an ASE-certified master diesel truck technician and
mechanic of about 15 years. He started building his own shop, Smith
Repair, around the same time he became a Preferred Customer and
started learning more about synthetic motor oils.
Last July, after attending the AMSOIL 30th Convention, he upgraded
to a Dealership.
Smith got an in-depth informational presentation on CD from his
sponsor who also started his dealership simply buying AMSOIL
products for his own personal use back in 1978 and has since built a
large, successful organization.
Smith also gleaned important technical information through reading
the Action News, he said.
"I found you can be a top-notch mechanic and not know all that much
about lubrication," Smith said. "It's amazing how little people know
about the lubrication they use to protect what is essentially their
second largest investment." Second, he said, to their homes.
Building the shop has been a bigger project than he envisioned and
he's counting on the income he makes from building his AMSOIL
business to offset some of the costs.
Fredricksburg is a small farming town of about 1,500. Smith has
lived there all of his life and is known by most people in town.
That works to his advantage, he said, because they trust him not to
steer them wrong.
He talks one-on-one to his customers, he said, advising them to try
AMSOIL lubricants.
"They're letting me install it in their trucks and machinery," he
said. "Installing AMSOIL is really a big benefit. It's made the
difference between selling a lot of oil and selling a little oil."
He now has some commercial accounts, as well, Smith said.
At 37, Smith is a man who believes everyone should have more than
one plan for their life. "You need to have a back up Plan B in case
Plan A goes haywire."
He acknowledges that building an AMSOIL business takes hard work and
the willingness to gain the knowledge needed to separate people from
their old ideas. "In the future, it's going to be more and more
synthetics," he said. "It takes perseverance. You've gotta keep
hitting it. It's a challenge and I believe I'm up to it.
"I wish I had started this about 15 years ago, I'd have a big
business today."
Smith is a perfect example of why the Preferred Customer program
works.
"The nice thing about Preferred Customers who upgrade to Dealers is
that they want businesses," Gorski said. "They're going to be
selling." These are the people who make a commitment to making their
AMSOIL businesses profitable, he said.
Ordering an AMSOIL Business Manual is vital to their success, Gorski
said. It guides them in how to build their businesses. Along with
advice and guidance from their sponsors. Dealers also become
eligible for T-1 certification. That's basically "an open book
test," Gorski said. It's included in the business manual. "We (the
company) know that the Dealer has the body of knowledge to offer
good service," he said.
Dealers also are eligible to receive leads to new prospects through
the company, as well as becoming eligible for trade show and racing
co-op assistance through the company after they are T-1 certified.
"The Preferred Customer program is wildly successful," Gorski said.
"Virtually all of the Dealers have embraced the Preferred Customer
program."

Desk...
These are exciting times here at AMSOIL. Every month our
sales increase over previous months and the number of new
Dealerships keeps growing. Dealers today are enjoying
excellent success and making more money than at any time in
this company's history. And as more and more people hear
about our products and learn about the AMSOIL opportunity,
there's no reason to believe this record growth won't
continue.
But with rapid growth also comes growing pains, and we are
experiencing many of the problems that most fast-growing
companies have. Finding qualified people always tops the
list of challenges. Ours is a very special company and we
won't just hire anybody. We set our standards high because
we want the best talent available. And slowly but surely, we
are adding staff that meet our criteria. Many of them you
have already met. More are on the way.
Another concern has been our need for space to grow. Our
production facilities are now automated and streamlined. We
have expanded our tank farm and enlarged our lab. We have
ample space and production capacity to accommodate existing
sales, but looking into the future, we can see our
requirements growing along with our increasing sales volume.
This is especially true when it comes to the warehousing and
distribution of our finished products.
Some would say that in these (or any) economic times, ours
are really good problems to have, and in truth, they are.
But like all problems, they still must be addressed and
dealt with. I never ignore a problem. I always tackle it
head on. That's what this message is about. I want to tell
you what we have done recently to address at least some of
our growing pains.
We have recently taken a giant step in securing all the
space necessary to accommodate our future growth and ability
to serve our Dealers for many, many years to come. We have
finalized negotiations on the purchase of a very large, very
modern facility that is only about two minutes from our
existing plant. To put it in simple terms, it is not only
suitable for our continued growth and expansion, it is
logistically perfect.
This facility was built to house a very large grocery
distributing company and is situated on over 55 acres of
property. It includes a 371,363 square foot building with
6,244 square feet of office space, 10,141 square feet
designed for truck maintenance, and 109,200 square feet of
refrigeration and freezer space. It features thirty-eight
loading docks and four drive-through bays. With thirty-foot
ceilings, this enormous facility will be ideal for our
requirements well into the future.
And the fact that it is in such close proximity to our
existing plant and has rail service is also ideal.
This acquisition represents a major financial commitment for
this company. But we see it as a commitment to our future
and yours. While this facility is larger than we need right
now, it gives us the room we need to grow, and I guarantee
we are going to continue growing!
Occasionally in past years there have been rumors
circulating in the field about me selling this business and
leaving our Dealers high and dry. I hope this acquisition
and the commitment we have made to the future of AMSOIL will
dispel those rumors once and for all. As always, my
allegiance is to our Dealers.
So we are addressing our growing pains by adding qualified
staff and increasing our available space. Beyond that, we
continue to add new and better products so that you will
continue to have opportunities to grow and prosper in this
business. That is, after all, the only way we as a company
will achieve our goals. When we both do our parts, we both
enjoy success in this business. We're counting on you to
keep growing with us.
There are many new and exciting products in various stages
of development even as I write this, but I promised not to
let the cat out of the bag yet. Just be assured that AMSOIL
opportunity will continue to be here for you now, and in the
years to come. We making certain of that by making
commitments today to insure our future success and yours.

This is a great time to be an AMSOIL Dealer! Despite the
fact that the general economy is flat and many businesses
are struggling. AMSOIL Dealers are experiencing
unprecedented growth. Here at the corporate level, business
has never been so good. Each month sets a new sales record
and there are no signs it will slow down anytime soon.
There are many reasons why our business is so good today.
The AMSOIL name is recognized by more and more consumers and
is synonymous with top quality. We have earned an excellent
reputation, so when you offer AMSOIL products or the
business opportunity today, you are most often well received
by your prospect, and very likely to make a sale or sponsor
a new Dealer or Preferred Customer.
I am convinced that this is just the beginning of a
tremendous period of prosperity for this company and every

something wrong. For example, if you have not used the G-100
product catalog, now is an excellent time to start. A new
catalog is included in this issue of ACTION NEWS and can be
ordered in bulk from AMSOIL INC. Buy some catalogs and a
rubber stamp with your name, address, and ZO number and
stamp the back of your catalogs. Then pass them out to
anyone who shows an interest in AMSOIL products. Let these
catalogs do some of your work for you. You will be credited
for every sale they generate. I know they are very effective
sales tools because we track our catalog sales, and they
grow larger every month. People are buying AMSOIL products
from them in ever-increasing numbers and they are generating
profits for many Dealers.
But here's the best part. If your customer buys from a
catalog you provided, when new catalogs are printed, we
automatically send them a new, updated catalog at no cost to
you or to them. Every sale generated from this new catalog
will also be credited to your account automatically. This
will continue for as long as your customer keeps buying, so
every time a new catalog is printed, buy more and give them
to different people. Eventually you will have a large number

Many times over the years, I have been approached by other
corporations or investors who wish to purchase AMSOIL Inc. I
recently received another such offer in an letter stating
that their research indicated we made excellent products and
had a good management team in place. Yes we do and yes we
have, but my response is and has always been..."not for
sale".
AMSOIL enjoys an excellent reputation in the marketplace.
Our name means high quality products to millions of people.
This is bound to attract potential investors. It also has
attracted the interest of some large retailers. They know
the AMSOIL name is marketable. But there would be major
drawbacks for us and our Dealers if we let them buy and sell
on their terms.
Some time back, one of our Dealers asked AMSOIL to assist in
preparing a proposal to a large discount retailer. We backed
out when the discounter insisted on purchasing and selling
our products at a lower price than our Dealers can purchase
and sell the products for. In essence, we turned our backs
on a possible multi-million dollar a year sale because we
knew it wasn't good for AMSOIL Dealers.
AMSOIL is committed to multi-level marketing and to our
Dealers. We don't do anything that we feel will hurt our
Dealer network. There have been a number of MLM companies
who have used their dealers to put them on the map, then
turned their backs on them and abandoned MLM for
conventional marketing. Can you imagine how frustrated and
disappointed those dealers had to be? All their work
building sales organizations went down the drain.
That will never happen here at AMSOIL. We have a great
relationship with our Dealers, and we like it that way. We
make a great team, AMSOIL INC. and you Dealers. We are all
growing and prospering together in this business and that's
exactly how our marketing plan is designed to work. And
whether it be someone trying to buy this company or someone
trying to undercut our Dealers, we don't want any part of
it.
Part of our mutual success has been due to our promotional
efforts, which include our racing promotions. Have you seen
the December 24 issue of Snow Week magazine? It is quite an
exhibit of AMSOIL snowmobile racing. The front cover
features a full page photo of Justin Tate flying through the
air on a machine that is totally emblazoned with AMSOIL
logos. Inside is a double page ad for Ski-Doo showing
Justin's number 28 machine again covered with AMSOIL logos.
Then the feature story is about Justin Tate's win at the
Spirit Mountain, Minnesota race. AMSOIL totally dominated
this issue of Snow Week magazine.
AMSOIL's supercross racing season got off to a blazing
start, as well. As noted in our racing update in this Action
News, all four of our riders accepted awards at the
supercross season opener in Anaheim, California.
You just can't buy advertising like that. Seeing our name
over and over in magazines and our riders on the winner's
podium gives tremendous credibility to the performance of
our products. That, after all, is the reason we're involved
in racing in the first place.
I also want to congratulate our Dealers for taking advantage
of our presence and success in racing. Our performance
products sales have increased tremendously this past year
thanks to your efforts and our racing promotions. This is
especially true of our two-cycle oil sales, which have
increased over 50% this past year. That, on top of a 50%
increase over the previous year, makes our two-cycle oil one
of our best selling products today.
The fact is, our sales should be increasing dramatically,
because we make the best products in the world, period. A
friend of mine told me about an acquaintance who was
researching lubricants over the Internet and determined that
AMSOIL made the best motor oils and Mobil came in second.
But he said someone made the comment that the owner of
AMSOIL was an "arrogant" son-of-a-gun.
I suppose I may have that reputation with some people,
because I know our lubricants are the best made and I'm not
shy about saying so. If that's being arrogant, then I guess
I'm arrogant. But in business, you've got to "toot your own
horn", because if you don't, nobody else will. Of course,
you must have something legitimate to toot about or you
could be labeled a blowhard.
Fortunately, we all have something to "toot" about these
days. Our products are excellent, our dealerships are
growing, our promotions are successful, and our sales
continue to grow. Your wagon is hitched to a winning team.
We're on our way to another banner year in 2002. Let's
continue making things happen together!

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK...September 2006
I would like to share some thoughts about making
personal goals and accomplishing them though your
AMSOIL business.
What are your goals in life? What do you want to
accomplish in the next year, five years or ten
years? To some people this can be an embarrassing
question because they don’t have any goals. They
drift through life waiting for their ship to come in
never realizing that even if their ship does come
in, it will be a ship without a rudder with no way
to guide it. You MUST have definite goals and work
toward achieving them if you want to be the master
of your own destiny. And the higher you set your
goals, the greater your achievement
will be.
Most people would consider as one of their goals to
be happy and successful. Of course, the definition
of success is different for all of us, but the end
result that success brings is the same . . .
self-satisfaction, security and financial
independence. The problem is that few people are
willing to pay the price required for their personal
success, and that’s a shame. It’s a shame because
the price is not really that high and we are all
capable of achieving whatever level of success we
desire.
You must start with a dream, an idea, a goal that is
meaningful to you. Perhaps you want a new home, a
new car, an education for your children, an early
retirement with financial security, or perhaps you
find yourself in a rut that promises no future and
you just want something better in life . . .
whatever you want or dream to have, put it on top of
your life’s priorities and start working toward
achieving it.
Believe in yourself and have an “I can do it”
attitude! At first it might be difficult . . . you
will likely experience setbacks and periods of
self-doubt. The important thing is to stick it out
and finish what you start. Nothing in life worth
having comes easy. And you don’t need to be a
“genius” to be a top achiever.
An average person with above average desire and
perseverance can accomplish much more than an above
average person with plenty of “natural talent” but
no drive or ambition. That’s a fact and we’ve all
seen examples among our friends to prove it. The
person who works hard and is a plugger has it all
over the hotshots who may be smarter and even
better, but won’t follow through and get the job
done.
This all relates to your AMSOIL business in many
ways. You became an AMSOIL Dealer because you
recognized an opportunity and grabbed it. Perhaps
you saw a method of achieving your goals through
owning your own AMSOIL business. Perhaps you saw the
possibilities for a better life for yourself and
your family.
Anything is possible for you in this business, but
the success you are looking for is entirely up to
you. Your AMSOIL business is a tool, and a very good
tool, for accomplishing your goals, but the
possibilities are only as great as your desire and
willingness to go out and work hard to achieve them.
Don’t waste this opportunity by not giving yourself
a fair chance. Try not to get discouraged by
faltering first steps. Stick to your objectives. The
road gets easier as time goes by because you get
better with time. Be a performer and a plugger . . .
you may surprise yourself at what you can
accomplish.
Your AMSOIL Business is one of the greatest
opportunities to be found anywhere. Believe in it
and work at it, and in five years from now you will
wonder how you could have ever doubted yourself or
AMSOIL.

other day and felt it was as pertinent today as it
was over thirty years ago. Many of you reading it
again now took my message to heart back in 1975 and

There are many of you who are Direct Jobbers today
because you stuck to your guns and made the AMSOIL
opportunity work for you. I applaud your success.
Then there were those who did nothing. They spent
their time in front of the TV rather than in front
of potential customers and new Dealers. Success in
this business eluded them because of lack of effort
and lack of commitment to achieving their
goals.
I still feel the same about what it takes to succeed
in this business. Natural talent is great, but
determination and commitment are what makes things
happen. Set you goals and achieve them with AMSOIL!

Have you ever heard a new Dealer make the comment that
sponsoring is like inviting someone to compete with you? I
have heard it said from time to time over the years, and
when I hear it, I know that the person saying it doesn't
understand what it takes to succeed in this business.
Sponsoring doesn't invite competition. On the contrary, it
expands the sponsor's personal income opportunities and
provides financial security in the event of illness or
disabling accident. When you sponsor new Dealers, you are
adding salespeople for your business. Your personally
sponsored Dealers generate sales that you alone could not
possibly make. Their sales, and the sales of the Dealers
they sponsor, result in commission credits that are added to
yours, determining the percent commission you earn every
month.
Unless you are an incredibly talented salesperson, there's
no way you could earn as much from your own personal sales
as you could with the combined efforts of an active downline
group. And even if you have a bad month personally or are
unable to work due to illness or accident, your personal
group will continue to generate income for you.
But sponsoring new Dealers is really just the beginning of
building a thriving, profitable AMSOIL Business. As your
downline group gets larger, it becomes your job to assist,
train and help keep your group motivated. That means holding
sales meetings and making yourself available to answer your
Dealer's questions and concerns. Your meetings will be a
place where your downline Dealers bring new prospects to
help them build their businesses, because the more you help
your downline Dealers succeed, the more success you will
enjoy. That's the way this business works.
AMSOIL provides plenty of assistance in getting you started
in sponsoring and operating your AMSOIL business. Your G-700
sales manual includes many "how to" books, including the
G-1229, which is the "How to Sponsor AMSOIL Dealers." It is
an excellent reference guide to tell you why and how to
sponsor new Dealers. Other "how to" books are also helpful
and should be read by every new Dealer. They include
information on how to begin, how to sell, how to promote,
how to administrate, plus books on the Altrum division, our
sales programs, and information on product features and
benefits. All of this information is geared to help you in
all aspects of owning and operating your own AMSOIL
business.
In addition to these many training tools, AMSOIL also makes
available a tremendous variety of product and promotional
materials geared to help you sell AMSOIL, Altrum and AGGRAND
products.
Our Sales Promotions Department is staffed with talented
writers and marketing personnel who take great pride in
producing outstanding sales literature and sales aids for
our Dealers use. We expect our promotional materials to
reflect a quality image for our company, our products, and
for you, our Dealers. They are produced at great expense to
the company, but in high enough quantities to make them
affordable to individual Dealers.
When you hand out an AMSOIL product brochure, data sheet, or
any AMSOIL sales aid, it is always a first class piece. When

broken record when talking about the importance of
sponsoring, but it clearly is the quickest and best way to
build a strong AMSOIL business. If that is not your goal,
then don't bother reading this message. Too late, eh?

President's Desk...
This summer, I hosted a fishing trip to Canada for my family
and a few friends. We traveled in my motorhome to a nice
little resort located north of Dryden, Ontario. For those
who are not familiar with Ontario, that's waayy up north!
This trip is an annual event, but we try a new resort every
year. We decided on this particular place after meeting the
owner at a boat and travel show here in Duluth. The owner
was a widow who had lost her husband just the year before
and was struggling to manage the resort by herself.
While staying at the resort, I had an opportunity to visit
with the owner and learned that she was having a very
difficult time operating the place in the absence of her
husband. She didn't have a clue about the financial side of
the business. Her husband had taken care of all that. The
more she told me about her situation, the more I realized
she was in deep trouble and in danger of losing everything
she and her late husband had worked for. What a shame.
On the long drive back home, I got to thinking about this
widow's sad situation and what could have been done to avoid
it. Obviously, if her husband had enough insurance, there
wouldn't be a problem. But her only insurance was the
business itself and like most businesses, it required
hands-on management and some business know-how. Without
that, it would surely fail.
What would happen to your business if you or your loved one
were suddenly unable to work. The unexpected can happen to
any of us at any time. When and if our business is
interrupted by unexpected circumstances or tragedy, the true
value of a thriving AMSOIL business soon becomes apparent.
It is one of your best insurance policies against disaster,
because no matter what happens to you or a loved one, your
AMSOIL business will always be there.
I know Dealers who have been laid off for months due to
illness or accident, yet their personal group volume
continued to earn for them until they were back on their
feet. The larger their downline group, the larger their
ongoing monthly income.
What a relief it is to have the checks keep coming even
though you are unable to work. Can you imagine what an
insurance policy providing that kind of coverage would cost?
Even upon the death of a Dealer, an AMSOIL business is
always there for the spouse or family. The business can be
sold or not, depending upon the desire of the surviving
spouse or heirs. I have been told by a few surviving spouses
that their businesses have actually continued to grow even
though they were no longer as active in the business. That's
why it's important to build a strong downline group while
you can. It can keep earning for you when you're unable to
do it yourself.
The value of an AMSOIL business can be especially important
when you reach retirement age. At that time you can opt to
sell your business and invest the money or, if you have an
active downline, continue to earn a regular monthly income
from it without lifting a finger. It's your choice. Some
successful AMSOIL businesses sell for very substantial sums.
Most often, other AMSOIL Dealerships buy these businesses
because they are natural fits to an existing business and
the added volume generated helps maximize commissions.
At any rate, we all know it takes work to build a successful
AMSOIL business and it's good to know that when you decide
to retire you can get a fair price for your efforts.
There never has been a better time than right now to
concentrate on building your business. At no time in the
history of this company has there been more opportunities to
grow. Our catalog program was an immediate success and has
continued growing every month. Our XL-7500 Program has
always been strong but has really caught fire recently. Our
on-line ordering is growing so fast, we are adding staff to

That's what today's savvy consumers want.
According to marketing analysts, the average
consumer no longer accepts general sales pitches
full of empty promises. The Internet gives consumers
instant access to nearly every possible product or
service. They look for quality information, conduct
price comparisons and then make buying decisions.

"I especially like the ATF," Boring said. "The truck
shifts smoother and the transmission is quiet. All

Although results vary because of a variety of factors, a common
denominator among AMSOIL motor oil users is an improvement in fuel
economy.
Independent testing reveals that AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 motor oil
passes the API Energy Conservation Sequence VI test with a rating 38
percent higher than the API minimum specifications.

conserving fuel," said Technical Services Manager Ed Kellerman. "In most
cases it can increase mileage, but at the very least you're getting
superior engine protection."
Ralph Sites, a police officer in Rustburg, VA, said he put AMSOIL 10W-40
Synthetic Motorcycle Oil in his 2002 GL 1800 Honda Gold Wing when it had
4,550 miles on the engine.
"I had been getting 30 miles per gallon," Sites said. "I was supposed to
be getting 40 to 45 miles per gallon."
His first oil change to AMSOIL improved his mileage to 38 miles per
gallon. At 6,500 miles on the engine, after replacing the final drive
oil with AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 Gear Lube, he improved to 40 miles
per gallon.
"I switched to AMSOIL for the long-term gain. The improved gas mileage
was just a bonus. AMSOIL is less expensive than Honda's synthetic and I
don't have to change it as often. It's a win-win situation."
He bought the bike new in January 2002 and had put 12,000 miles on it in
August. He said the improved mileage he's gotten since switching to
AMSOIL has saved him $102 just in gasoline.
Jeff Bailey in Fulton, Mo., said his 1996 Lexus GS300 with 81,000
miles on it also gained fuel efficiency when he switched to AMSOIL
motor oil.
"The car wants premium gasoline," he said. "I drive about 18,000 miles a
year. I ordered your synthetic product and absolutely astounded.
"I was used to getting about 20 mpg overall and having a little low-rev
torque."
Since switching to AMSOIL motor oil, Bailey gets 24 mpg and uses regular
gasoline.
"The engine feels even more flexible," he said. "I've used AMSOIL now
for my wife's anemic Camry 2.2 litre and have calculated that I have
saved about $120," he said. "Thanks AMSOIL for an awesome product. You
have a customer for life."
Likewise, Lance Okeson of St. Paul, Minn., gained miles per gallon after
switching to AMSOIL motor oil in his 1995 Cutlass Supreme.
Okeson made the switch after learning about AMSOIL from a customer of
his at a quick lube where he works. His customer was so enthusiastic
about AMSOIL, Okeson did some research on the AMSOIL Website and decided
to try the products. A trip from the Twin Cities to Fargo, N.D., in a
steady 17 mile-per-hour wind, and back showed him an increase from 24
mpg to 30.5 mpg.
"I have never gotten 30 plus mpg with that car," Okeson said. "I have
two other vehicles that I switched over to AMSOIL motor oil. One is a
4x4 and the other is an old muscle car. I switched the transmissions and
the differentials in those vehicles as well."
ASE Master Technician Sold on
AMSOIL
Mark Deschner, Friendswood, Texas,
is an ASE Master Technician and Manager of the West
Pear Land Tire & Auto Store.
He recently was able to demonstrate the superior
quality of AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants when he had
to change out a leaking intake manifold on his 1991
Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup truck, with more than
183,000 miles on the original engine.
"When my lead technician took the intake manifold

Peter Virgona of Merrick, N.Y. is a self-proclaimed
oil enthusiast.
“I do a great deal of reading and research, always
looking for the best
oil,” Virgona said. “The more I read the more I
realized AMSOIL was the
best ‘true’ synthetic I could buy. After using Mobil
1 since 1986, I made
the switch to AMSOIL.”
Virgona is a warehouse worker, but he has many years
of experience working
on cars.
He drives a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria that has nearly
98,000 miles on the
engine. He switched from Mobil 1 to
AMSOIL 5W-30
Synthetic Motor Oil (ASL).
“The difference was immediate and significant,”
Virgona said. “The idle
became much smoother. There are times I can’t tell
if the car is running.
It also became much more responsive to the gas
pedal, so much more
responsive my wife asked me what I did to the car.”
Virgona has owned the car for almost nine years.
“Not surprisingly, the gas
mileage improved significantly,” he said. “This car
always averaged 15
miles per gallon going back and forth from work. It
now averages 16.5 mpg.
That’s a 10 percent increase. I truly didn’t expect
such a big change.”
He waited to report his findings until after he had
driven the car at least
5,000 miles “to confirm that the numbers are average
and not just a fluke.”
Virgona also has installed Ea Air and
Oil Filters in
his vehicles.
He told his sister-in-law about AMSOIL and then
changed her oil over to
AMSOIL 5W-30. She drives a 1996 Dodge Caravan with a
3.0 litre V6 engine.
According to Virgona, she had always used
conventional motor oil with
regular oil changes every 3,000 miles.
“Nonetheless, she had a significant amount of sludge
that was obvious under
the oil fill cap,” he said. “She also experienced a
very loud lifter noise
that would come and go. Presumably, the sludge was
affecting the oil
circulation to the lifters.”
Oil consumption in the van was also increasing,
using about one quart every
1,500 to 2,000 miles.
“I switched the van to AMSOIL and put in a new
filter,” Virgona said.
“Within 1,000 miles the lifter noise was all but
gone. By 3,000 miles,
virtually all the sludge was gone. I drained and
refilled the oil a second
time with AMSOIL 5W-30. The oil consumption is now
down to one quart every
3,000 miles, with no more lifter noise.
“I am very happy with AMSOIL and plan to use it from
now on. I recommend it
to anyone who wants a great synthetic oil.”
Virgona buys his products through the AMSOIL
website. “I always get my
product within 48 hours,” he said. In fact, he just
had a case shipped to
his father in-law in Florida because he believes in
AMSOIL products and
wants others to experience their benefits. In fact,
he’s considering
becoming a Dealer.
Virgona respects that he can get detailed technical
information about
AMSOIL just by checking the website. “AMSOIL puts
out performance test
results for everyone to see. I definitely appreciate
that.
“People are usually very, very loyal to AMSOIL. They
know it’s the best.”
AMSOIL Gives
Life to a Sweet Old Cadillac. Making a skeptic into a believer again.
Dear AMSOIL,
I thought you
might appreciate hearing my AMSOIL story. When the opportunity arose
last year to purchase my mother-in-law's 1987 Cadillac DeVille, I jumped
at the chance. A true low mileage survivor, it was in near pristine
condition. I was proudly showing it off to a mechanic friend when he
said, "Uh-oh, you bought an HT-4100? Good luck buddy."
After much research I understood what he meant. The HT-4100 was rumored
to be one of the most troublesome engines Cadillac ever built. The
problems are numerous: an aluminum block with cast iron heads that
expand and contract at different rates causing premature head and intake
gasket failure, coolant loss into the oil, and finally main and rod
bearing failure. They also have a heavily loaded distributor gear, weak
timing gears, and sludging issues.
My first thought was, if ever an engine needed AMSOIL, it's this one. I
first heard about AMSOIL at the old Brohman Dragway in the late 1970s
from a fellow racer who swore by it. For the past 10 years, I've used
various synthetic oils with favorable results, but never AMSOIL. Then I
talked with Dave Mann, the AMSOIL Dealer in my home town, and told him
my story. Having spent 19 years as a lubrication specialist with Ford,
Dave knows his stuff. He made several recommendations, and shared with
me his excellent e-book on motor oils.
I also asked around at the Cadillac owners group I belong to, and almost
every one of them said, "Don't buy AMSOIL! It's too expensive and won't
do you any good. You need this or that oil with this or that additive,"
and so on. So who was I to believe?
Having spent over 25 years in advertising and marketing, I have a strong
skepticism for extravagant claims made by manufacturers. Usually, when
you hear impressive adjectives like "advanced" and "superior," someone
just wants your money or your vote (or both). So I read the science;
from AMSOIL and from several independent studies. I came to the
conclusion that it really is an excellent product. It also intrigued me
that one of the primary sales points made by AMSOIL is to convince you
to buy LESS of their product. That kind of marketing is contrary to
anything I've experienced, and elevates AMSOIL's credibility level
exponentially.
I switched the Cadillac over to AMSOIL 5W-30 (ASL) last fall, then put
in AMSOIL 10W-30 (ATM) this spring (even though it's not a turbo, I like
the extra wear protection offered by this formula). Rather than letting
the oil go a full year, I change it every six months, during which time
it accumulates about 6,000 miles. My dad was an auto mechanic and taught
the 3,000-mile oil change rule like it was the 11th commandment - that
kind of conditioning is hard to overcome. With this frequency, I still
spend less money than if I changed the oil on a three-month/3,000-mile
schedule. I use the money I save to have drain samples tested by an
independent lab each time.
The Deville now has 50,000 miles and runs like a fine Swiss watch. I
have not had a single problem with the 'troublesome' HT-4100 engine. It
runs roughly 10 degrees cooler than with regular oil, and my gas mileage
has increased by 10%. It has become my mission to get 200,000 miles from
this car. With AMSOIL, I might just make it.
As an addendum, I also recently switched my wife's 2003 Oldsmobile
Silhouette minivan to AMSOIL. Since we've owned it, this car has had a
lifter clatter for the first 10 seconds on cold starts. Literally, on
the first start after putting in AMSOIL, the clatter was gone.
Thanks AMSOIL. By making a superb product that truly does what you say
it will do, you've given new life to a sweet old Cadillac, and made a
believer out of this devout skeptic. (see

HDT Sets AMA Land Speed Record
with AMSOIL
Hayes Diversified Technologies (HDT), located in
Hesperia, California, produces diesel powered tactical military
motorcycles for the U.S. armed services as well as the UK and EU NATO
countries. Founded in 1961, the company originally manufactured
electro-mechanical switches and relays to the military & aerospace
industries.
The new HDT motorcycles are diesel machines combining both power and
environmentally friendly performance efficiency. We are talking about a
bike that gets 100 miles to the gallon AND can do 100 mph.
The HDT team was out on the Bonneville Salt Flats
earlier this month, striving to establish new national and world
records. Displaying the AMSOIL colors while going through the paces at
Bonneville, they offered up quite a number of very strong endorsements
with virtually no prompting. We noticed an increase in horsepower right
away when compared to Delvac 1,¯ said Fred Hayes, founder/CEO of HDT.
What was quite surprising was the condition of the engine after a
50-mile run-in and over 120 full-throttle dyno runs. The camshaft
bearings, the small and large end rod bearings, didn't even look like
they had been run. During that series of dyno runs, we registered the
highest horse-power and torque readings ever.¯
Dave Anderson, AMSOIL Technical Product Manager, had flown to Bonneville
to witness and participate in the pursuit of new land speed records.
Hayes said to Anderson, "Our testing proved that AMSOIL Series 3000
5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil provided better cam bearing lubrication,
better transmission operation and less blow-by than our previous oil. We
picked up just over one horse power at the rear well." This is a 3.7%
increase and worth a 1 tooth higher gear ratio. In addition, it appears
that overall coolant temperature was down about five degrees. That is
roughly a 2.5% decrease in operating temperatures.
Very few bikers would be opposed to increased horsepower with lower
operating temps, simply by switching over the lubricants.
With over a year of testing, we have found that AMSOIL products
continually outperform all other lubricants. AMSOIL provides improved
performance, increased fuel economy, lower oil consumption, and
significantly reduced engine wear in all operating conditions.
AMSOIL Boosts Bottom Line for
Grain Hauler
Burnell Keller of Castroville, Texas hauls a lot of
corn. Saving downtime and maintenance costs boost
his bottom line.
Since the 1960s, Keller Grain, Inc., at Castroville
has bought high quality white and yellow corn from
local farmers and trucked it to processing plants
across the state of Texas. "These trucks put on
about 12,000 miles a month," said Keller, the
company's owner.
He was running Exxon XD3-30 motor oil in his
Freightliner and changing it every 10,000 miles. He
heard AMSOIL products could cut his operating and
maintenance costs in half, provide better fuel
economy, easier starts and extended oil drains at
least three times longer than he was getting.
"We were fixing to extend the drain to 15,000
miles," Keller said. "But a sample of the Exxon
motor oil analyzed at 10,000 miles came back saying
the oil needed to be changed. I said, let's give
AMSOIL a whirl."
After an engine flush, Keller installed
AMSOIL
15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil in his
Freightliner, with more than 400,000 miles on the
engine.
"We did this procedure three times at a 15,000-mile
analysis and filter change only," Keller said. "Each
time the oil sample report came back saying the oil
was good for continued use."
After the third round of analysis, the oil was
changed. Keller plans to continue with 15,000-mile
analysis and filter changes and to continue to use
the same oil for an interval of 50,000 miles.
"That's about five times longer than before," Keller
said. "It's very good. Keller Grain is now convinced
that AMSOIL is a superior product and that anybody
can save money using AMSOIL products."
New Life for Dodge Ram
Preferred Customer Lyle Reinier from Mesa, Ariz. has
been using AMSOIL products for four years with complete satisfaction. He
said that when he started using them in his 2001 Dodge Ram they “changed
the way it ran.”
Now Reinier drives a 2004 Dodge Ram. He uses AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 in
the engine, AMSOIL Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid
in
the transmission and 80W-140 Long Life Gear Lube.
“AMSOIL has given this truck life that it was hiding before,” said
Reinier. Reinier said the Ram now pulls stronger and runs smoother than
it did before. He made the switch to AMSOIL when the truck hit the
3,000-mile mark. “What comes as a surprise to me is that my Dodge dealer
had no problem doing a complete drain and fill with AMSOIL,” said
Reinier.
Reinier said the dealer removed all the Dodge transmission fluid and
refilled the truck with AMSOIL ATF. “Within a mile or two I could feel
the transmission was smoother and showed a difference in how it
performed,” said Reinier.
Reinier also uses AMSOIL in his dirt bikes. He and his wife have been
using AMSOIL 0W-40 Formula 4-Stroke since it was introduced. Within the
last year, Reinier performed a big bore and a valve job on their bikes
in search of more power.
“The insides of the cases, transmission gears and crank shafts were all
like brand-new,” said Reinier.
Reinier said the cylinder walls of each bike still
showed some cross hatching from the original bore. He also said the
bikes run quieter, smoother and cooler than they did before the switch
to AMSOIL. Both bikes have their original clutches and have logged over
4,000 trail miles.

Discovers a Burning Desire For AMSOIL
Dealer Mark Licht of Andover, N.J., was on a follow-up visit at Jimmy's
Service, Inc., of Hackettstown, N.J., when the integrity of AMSOIL ATF
was put to a new, on-the-spot test.
Licht showed shop owner Jimmy Naranjo several pieces of literature on
oil and ATF testing results. After listening to Licht talk about the
benefits of AMSOIL ATF, Naranjo turned to him and said, "You're full of
it."
Licht continued to explain all the features and benefits that
AMSOIL ATF
has to offer, but Naranjo interrupted and told him, "There is only one
way to prove this ATF is any good."
Naranjo went to his shelf and opened two brands of transmission fluid he
uses and poured some of each onto his metal workbench. The shop owner
than poured some AMSOIL ATF next to the other two brands. "I had no idea
what this guy was about to do," said Licht.
Naranjo then took out his torch and put the flame directly on the first
brand of transmission fluid he commonly used. After about 30 seconds the
little puddle of transmission fluid started smoking. Naranjo proceeded
to the second brand he stocked in his service shop and repeated the
process. After another 30 seconds, that brand of transmission fluid
began smoking badly.
"Now it's AMSOIL's turn and I must admit I thought my fluid was going to
smoke out just like the others with that direct flame," said Licht.
Naranjo held the flame on the AMSOIL ATF for over two and a half minutes
and there was absolutely no smoke.
"He quickly turned to me and said he'd take a 30-gallon and a 55-gallon
drum of the ATF," said Licht. "We couldn't believe our eyes!"
Now Jimmy's Service stocks the entire XL line of oils, all of the AMSOIL
25,000-mile oils, AMSOIL diesel oils and all of the AMSOIL diesel
additives. The shop also carries AMSOIL filters, 2-cycle oils, Power
Foam Engine Cleaner and Home Heating Fuel Extender.
CROSS COUNTRY TRIP PROVES AMSOIL PERFORMS
Owners of motorhomes, who often travel long distances, are particularly
concerned with finding ways to save on fuel costs.
A Texas man discovered AMSOIL motor oils and lubricants lived up to all
of his expectations in a journey from Texas to Alaska and back in 2004.
"I have a 1998 Dutch Star by Newmar 38-foot motorhome with a 300 horse
power Cat engine," said Shelby Rash, Richardson, Texas. "I also tow a
car behind." Throughout 2003,
Rash averaged 7.1 miles per gallon.

Rash said. "I installed a new AMSOIL air filter and oiled the front wet
axles myself. I filled up with diesel and added AMSOIL Cetane Boost and
Diesel Fuel Additive to the tank, as well."
Then Rash took his four-month, 11,000-mile trip.
"I used the two additives each time I filled," he said. "I also attended
two RV rallies where I 'dry-camped with a generator' for a total of 10
days during this time." The only thing he did was change the oil filter
during that time.
"I averaged 8.6 mpg since January 2004 for these 11,000 miles," Rash
said. "This sure helped with the high fuel prices. Just by changing to
AMSOIL I averaged 1.5 mpg better.
"Is AMSOIL worth a try? I think so."
