Hi, I’m Dave - a former Ford Truck/Automotive Engineer with 40 years of combined professional experience working with lubrication systems and using and promoting AMSOIL products. My trucks, heavy equipment, farm and powersports vehicles experience extreme use, and I use AMSOIL products in every single one. Enjoy the site!

Who sells AMSOIL? Where to buy AMSOIL products:

AMSOIL is sold through authorized independent dealers like Performance Oil Technology, select auto parts stores (some NAPA's, O'Reilly's, Advance Auto), service centers, and online through AMSOIL's official website.

Most people purchase AMSOIL products online since they ship directly to customers throughout the US & Canada. With their 13 warehouses and distribution centers scattered throughout North America, you can expect to receive your order in just a few days.

Where can you buy AMSOIL products?

AMSOIL is available in some retail stores including some NAPA, O'Reilly's, and Advance Auto Parts locations, gas stations, quick lubes, automotive service centers and in some powersports dealerships.

AMSOIL products can also be purchased online through their website and through independent dealers. Most online orders are shipped within 24 hours of purchase and take 2-3 days to get delivered to your door. For additional AMSOIL discounts, promo codes, and offers, check those out here as they often change!

Does AutoZone carry AMSOIL products?

No, AutoZone does not carry any AMSOIL products.

Does NAPA sell AMSOIL products?

Yes, many NAPA locations stock AMSOIL products, but not all of them. To find local retailers, dealerships, service centers, and independent AMSOIL dealers that sell products, use their store locator.

Does O'Reilly's carry AMSOIL?

Yes, select O'Reilly's locations carry AMSOIL products, though availability varies by location.

Where's the cheapest place to buy AMSOIL?

The most cost-effective option for purchasing AMSOIL products is becoming an AMSOIL Preferred Customer and purchasing products online, which provides up to 25% savings plus free shipping on orders over $100 - often making it cheaper than retail stores even before shipping costs.

AMSOIL often has promotions and discount codes that are only available to Preferred Customers where you can receive further discounts and rewards.

How to Buy AMSOIL Online

Here's how I recommend customers purchase the right AMSOIL products online:

  1. Use the Vehicle Lookup Guide to find products for your specific vehicle. There are usually several, similar products that are applicable to the same vehicle. AMSOIL's vehicle lookup guides help you easily compare those products against each other to find what best suits your needs and your budget.
  2. Create a Preferred Customer account to save 25%.
  3. Order directly from AMSOIL.
  4. Get expert support from dealers for technical questions. Orders typically ship within 24 hours and arrive in 2-3 business days.

As an authorized AMSOIL Dealer and former Ford Motor Company engineer, many customers have asked me why AMSOIL doesn't sell products in many big-name automotive retailers and big box stores.

Why isn't AMSOIL sold in most stores?

AMSOIL is not sold in most big box stores and popular auto retailers like AutoZone, Walmart or Costco for a few reasons:

  1. AMSOIL primarily uses an independent dealer network to sell its products directly to customers and businesses. This model was established by the founder Al Amatuzio to educate customers on the benefits of synthetic oils when they were new to the market. Maintaining this dealer network protects the business opportunities for these independent AMSOIL dealers.
  2. AMSOIL wants to avoid giving large retail chains a competitive advantage that could make it difficult for smaller local businesses like auto repair shops, powersports dealers, and other service providers that sell and use AMSOIL products. These local businesses often provide value-added services along with the products.
  3. AMSOIL positions itself as a premium quality product focused on performance over lowest price. Major retail chains typically seek the lowest-priced products to stock their shelves, which goes against AMSOIL's philosophy of not compromising quality.

From AMSOIL:

We think it’s important that AMSOIL products are available primarily at businesses that offer specialized products and services. As such, we don’t sell directly to national chains because they can gain a competitive advantage that makes it less desirable for local or regional businesses that offer repair, installation or other value-added services.

Typically big box stores put in very large purchase orders and in doing so, they can also dictate the price that they want to pay. In order for AMSOIL to meet prices that big box stores want to pay, AMSOIL would have to cut the quality to meet the lower price, and that is not something AMSOIL is willing to do.
